"I am only sorry that there was not more we could have done to help his condition. Chris was a wonderful and remarkable person and I will certainly never forget him."
Professor Pamela J Shaw, MD FRCP, Consultant Neurologist,
Royal Halamshire Hospital
In 2005, Chris Hall was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND), within one year he was dead.
Chris's motto - to adapt, improvise and overcome - was the way he faced his illness and his determination to raise awareness and funds for research into Motor Neurone Disease was an inspiration to all who knew him.
In memory of Chris and to continue his fight against MND, Liz, his wife, and a group of friends are heading off in April 2007 to face the challenging trek to Everest Base Camp, raising funds for the MND Association.
However sad Chris's death is, it has become a spin-off of for many positive actions and fundraising activity. Family, friends and members of Yorkshire Divers have organised art auctions and music events and undertaken sponsored runs and sponsored slims.
Currently over £25k has been raised and after the Pink Coffin Mount Everest Challenge this amount should be closer to £35k. A BIG THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO HAS HELPED RAISE FUNDS!
